Anniston has a rich retail and commerce history. Downtown Anniston, like many downtowns across America, has lost many of it's shops and businesses to the interstate strip malls. Anniston is now reinventing itself and is open for Business! Anniston also has a new distinction with a new National Monumen in two locations in Downtown. Aniston has many buidings on the National Historic Register.
